Vudu resets user passwords after hard drives lost in office burglary

“Video service Vudu began warning users today that it has instituted a systemwide password reset following an office break-in last month. A burglary March 24 resulted in the loss of hard drives that contained users' sensitive personal information, including names, e-mail addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, account activity, dates of birth, and the last four digits of some credit card numbers, Vudu Chief Technology Officer Prasanna Ganesan informed customers in an e-mail. He said no complete credit card numbers were stolen because the company does not store that information….”

Absolute Software and Samsung partner on KNOX

“Device security and management company Absolute Software has announced that it is partnering with Samsung to bring tracking, remote wipe and management capabilities to Samsung's KNOX security framework. Samsung KNOX, which is based on SE Android, was unveiled in March as a solution to secure business data storage on Android-based mobile devices. 'Game of Thrones' sets piracy record, report says

“”Game of Thrones,” the wildly popular fantasy drama on HBO, has set an all-time record via BitTorrent, according to data collected by Torrent Freak. The site, which tracks the world of BitTorrent and piracy, was tracking uploads and downloads of the first episode of the latest season of “Game of Thrones.” It found that just a few hours after the first torrent was shared on the site, 163,088 people were sharing just one torrent. The so-called “swarm” of people sharing the torrent outpaced the previous titleholder, “Heroes,” which had 144,663 peers sharing one torrent….”
